Artist Statement:
This new concept in jewelry and artworks comes from a lifelong concern for the Earth and its resources.
We take copper from the Earth and use it to make computer parts. We can safely recycle that copper into beautiful works of art.
The native Americans and many other cultures believe copper has healing power.
And when we look at the inner workings of computers, what do we see? Pieces that are nearly like an Aztec sun.
From the sun, power; from copper, healing power. Add to it the minerals and semi-precious stones that are known for protecting us--amethysts, crystals, turquoise, obsidian and many others.
